Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website – whether with a screen reader, braille display, keyboard, voice control or screen magnification.
Our goal
This website follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at conformance level AA.
What we do
- A clear heading hierarchy and named page regions, so you can jump straight to any section with a screen reader.
- A “Skip to content” link as the first element on every page.
- Links within a page move focus to the heading they point to, so your screen reader continues reading right there.
- Everything can be operated with the keyboard, and keyboard focus is clearly visible.
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 – in both light and dark mode.
- The moving topic ticker can be paused. If your system is set to reduce motion, nothing moves at all.
- German and English terms are marked up by language, so screen readers pronounce them correctly. Abbreviations such as PMO are spelled out.
- Decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers. Anything that is only highlighted visually – such as our core offering – is also conveyed as text.
- Phone numbers are written in short, easy-to-listen-to digit groups. Our contact details are also available as a vCard you can save straight to your address book.
- Pages stay usable at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling. If your operating system is set to increase contrast, reduce transparency or use a contrast theme, the design adapts.
- The website is available in English and German and loads no third-party content.
What we deliberately avoid
We do not use so-called accessibility overlays or read-aloud widgets. They often interfere with screen readers and make the site harder to use rather than easier. Instead, the website itself is built to be accessible – your own assistive technology and settings work as usual.
How we test
We test the website with the automated testing tool axe and manually for keyboard operation, structure, contrast and display on small screens. We especially welcome feedback from people who use a screen reader or braille display every day.
Found a barrier?
